National City Bank - 1991 to 1994

Software architect in the bank's Systems Development area.

• Lead architect and quality assurance team member on large client/server project automating NCB's Corporate Banking functions.  Project implemented using Seer HPS.
• Involved in the implementation of a Windows client-server development environment, using Power Builder, MS SQL Server, and the MDI gateway to DB2.
• Conducted extensive product evaluations for the corporate standard word processor, end-user query tool, and desktop Windows database.
• Developed several single- and multi-user Clipper and FoxPro applications varying from two to six man-months in effort.
• Led the systems effort for automating internal ISD charge back.
• Automated numerous manual forms in MS Word using macros and templates.

The Glidden Company - 1988 to 1991

Programmer/Analyst

• Coordinated the implementation of a purchased PC-based Point of Sale package, including its interface to existing mainframe applications, across over 400 locations nationwide.
• Designed and developed in Clipper a time reporting system for use by Glidden research scientists and ISD.
• From specifications, implemented an interface between an IDMS database application and various existing batch systems.
• Played a key role in the design and development of a PC-based Flexible Budget System, using Clipper, that was distributed across ten manufacturing locations.
• Interviewed users to determine system requirements and conducted a structured analysis and design of the proposed system.

Director and Instructor, Music in Motion - 1982 to 1988

Developed, marketed, and conducted a weekly music enrichment program of my own creation.  Also taught piano privately.

• Designed curriculum and teacher training materials.
• Supervised two associate instructors.
